Last Fridays Art Walk
This Friday!
March 25th Last Fridays Art Walk 6:00 – 9:00 pm
You are cordially invited to the HAC 'Last Fridays' Art Walk.
Downtown Hillsborough springs to life this Friday night as art galleries and artist studios feature opening exhibitions and receptions throughout downtown Hillsborough. Join your friends for a beautiful spring night in the heart of the Hillsborough historic district.
1. Hillsborough Arts Council Gallery 220 South Churton Street Featuring the Hillsborough Downtown Arts & Crafts Show preview exhibition.
The preview show will offer a preview of selected artists work displayed at the HAC Gallery for the month before the Arts and Crafts Show. Work is available for sale including mixed media, pottery, jewelry, decorative gourds, bookbinding, stained glass, fiber, mosaics and fused glass.
The show will run from March 18 through April 16.
2. Snowhill Tileworks 220 South Churton Street
Handmade ceramic tile and porcelain jewelry by Laura Johnson.
3. Eno Gallery 100 South Churton Street
Opening reception in the upper gallery for the exhibition 'SHARED SPACES'. A solo exhibition of new work by Shannon Bueker. The themed exhibition features paintings depicting man's interactions with the natural world.
The show will run from March 25 through April 26.
4. Hillsborough Artists Co-op & Skylight Gallery 102 West King St
Opening reception for the exhibition 'ARTWORK. A solo exhibition by Aaron Ambroso.
9. Hillsborough Gallery of Arts 121 North Churton Street
Opening reception for a themed show titled 'WALKABLE HILLSBOROUGH' featuring locally themed work by the gallery’s member artists.
The show will run from March 22 through April 24.
Numbers refer to the map and brochure of the Last Fridays Art Walk and are available at any of the participating venues or at The HAC Art Walk website.
The Third Annual Hillsborough Craft Show
April 16, 2011 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
The Third Annual Hillsborough Craft Show is a juried show offering original art and quality handcrafted items of 40 NC artisans.
Adding to the fun will be wonderful live music
11:00 am to 1:00 pm
The guitar duo of Michael Thompson and Tommy Hartley.1:30 pm to 3:30 pm
The Lynnphonics with Lynn McGee vocals and percussion with Scott Moore on guitar and vocals.
Other great events happening downtown on April 16 will be the premier opening of the Hillsborough Sculpture Tour and the Spring Wine Tasting at Weaver Street Market as well as activities and goodies at The Eno River Farmers Market.
So mark the calendar and enjoy this burst of Spring in our vibrant downtown!
