Does anyone know of a good resource for learning the Xcode IDE?

Everything I find online seems to be either about building your first iOS app, or steps me through an old version of Xcode where things aren't in the same place as 4.6.

I'm not ready to work in objective-c or build an iPhone app, I just want to know how to do my intro C++ homework on my mac without using a text editor to write, then terminal to compile (also those fancy error markers look handy).

Or if one of you wants to be my learning resource, I'll buy lunch next week in exchange for stepping me through setting up and compiling a 'hello world' program. If that person can tell me the mac equivalent of system("pause") they can even have dessert :)
