I'm going to treat this like Freecycle for a minute… or for a month.

WANTED: Conduits, cables, hoses, etc. at least 2 inches in diameter (i.e., not garden hoses) and preferably 5+ feet long (the longer the better). It's for a science fiction set, nests of conduits and cables. Think Matrix meets Giger. (Actually, Matrix was sorta Giger already.) They can be hollow or full of wires, we don't care. We'll take any colors; red and yellow black and white, they are precious in my sight.

ALSO WANTED: Large non-working electronics that can be harvested for parts (old TVs, old fuse boxes, etc.).

ALSO ALSO WANTED: Panels of blinky lights, or someone who wants to help build panels of blinky lights. Like behind Dave here (attached).

If you have anything like this which I can take off your hands, email me back or call/text me. I'd prefer to have instead of borrow, as there's probably no keeping track of what belongs to who, but this is flexible for really ace stuff.

Thanks guys!

Intriguing! Sadly, I don't have any cables that meet the 2-inches in diameter criterion and as you know I was begging for parts myself just last month. ;-) However, I may be able to help build you blinky panels and other props, especially if you come up with some junk hardware to enblinkify. Call or drop by and we'll chat about what you have in mind?

I wouldn't mind helping to build some props either.

I don't think I have anything that could be of use but i'll go through the garage and double check.

I've got an old g4 macbook i've been looking to dump on someone if that would be useful. I've also seen every single episode of MacGuyver* if there is any building left to do. Also, I'll do almost anything else if you have any reason for me to be away from the house next week while my in-laws are visiting.

*Even the two-parter where he hit his head and went back in time to meet King Arthur and Merlin; yes that really happened it was where we learned Mac's first name

I'm pretty sure Jeffrey's MacGuyver reference + in-laws situation clearly identifies him as the most qualified builder of blinky things.
