1. *8**8* is valid; it is the only valid number starting with *. All other
paths down it cannot be entered. It dials, but the call "cannot be
completed as dialed".
2. 1 #11 555 1212 and similar numbers (e.g. 1 #12 555 1212) can be dialed at
the cost of 80 cents (which I cannot be bothered to spend), however no other
numbers in these "area codes" can be dialed.
3. 01234567# gives the telus long distance service. I think this one is on
all phones.
Other things:
Calls to Novosibirisk, Russia are outrageously expensive.
Smart card RW devices at reasonable cost are VERY difficult to find and even
more difficult to actually buy, but if you could get one it might be worth
it (blue boxes cost more than there things). Then you might be able to do
the same with payphone cards as you would with a satallite card. If anybody
has one of there shings or knows where I might get one without having to
consult for solutions, please let me (and us all) know.
