Want to win $20,000 cash, plus extra editorial and technical support, to produce a major story anywhere in Africa?
#HacksHackers partners at the African Story Challenge are calling for proposals for analytical, investigative, or data-driven stories on health issues.
Proposals should deal specifically with topics relating to the prevention or treatment of diseases, or alternatively sanitation or water-borne diseases, or neglected diseases, or vaccines and immunization.
Finalists will be invited to a #StoryCamp with international experts, to help refine their ideas. Winners will receive $20,000 cash to produce the stories, plus assistance from editors, data and digital experts, and health specialists.
The African Story Challenge gives away $1m per year and is run by the African Media Initiative (AMI), is association with Hacks/Hackers - Africa chapters across the continent. Applications are open to journalists, or multi-disciplinary teams that include journalists.
