
Something to remember. While integrating Steam API, we can use their matchmaking instead of unity's master server. They definitely have ways for establishing peer-to-peer connections. Also, are you sure Max, that direct IP connection solves Nat issues? I am not sure how. That's a discussion for a different place though.
