Dear Hackney orchardists/fruit foragers!
There is an exciting new FREE opportunity at the Made in Hackney kitchen (see flyer attached). They're looking for 8-10 orchard leaders/anyone in the community involved in fruit foraging, to learn various ways of preserving the harvest you should soon be enjoying! There will be sessions on jam and chutney making (with and without sugar), pickling, lactic fermentation etc.
This will be one session per week (Thursdays 6.30-8.30pm, 6 weeks). The first one will commence on June 6th. The course is free although there is a contribution towards energy and deep cleaning of the kitchen which works out at a bargain £10 per person for the whole course!
It'd be great to put together a group of keen fruit growers for this course, so please contact me asap if you're interested. Please share this email within your groups. Also, please do contact me if you're interested but can't make the 6th June - there may be further opportunities to participate.
Kind regards
Lewis
