LitePlacer news
LitePlacer pick and place machine has new pricing, new cameras and new features in software!
New Pricing
LitePlacer machine is now only 1550€/$. Dollar and Euro are nowadays more or less equal; so is the store pricing. Further, the cable chains are now included. Because the new cameras didn't fit to the kit packaging I use, I rather give you the cable chains and ship one of the cameras in the chains box.

New cameras
LitePlacer now has new cameras. The new model is much faster and much more accurate, up to 4k resolution. With new camera module, I re-designed the camera mounts as well. The downlooking camera mount is still trimmable in three dimensions, and the trims can now be locked, so the setup is more robust:

Frankly, two full 4k video streams can be a burden to an ordinary computer. Still, my 10+ year old i5 computer with two streams active still achieves more than 20 frames per second at 2k resolution. A big improvement from the old camera model (7 fps at 720 px)!
The cameras are available as an upgrade to older machines now. The price is 160€/$: You get two cameras with new cables. Unfortunately, the connector on new cameras is different, so you need to reroute the cable. You can get yours here.
Up camera assisted placement
New cameras and new software structure allow new capabilities. The video processing was re-done a while ago. This made it possible to implement the most requested feature, up camera assisted placement. The system can now measure if a part is not picked perfectly, and can correct for that. This easily happens due to loose tape pocket and other reasons.
Here is an example, a SOT-23 part on a nozzle, perfectly recognized by the software. Due to applied correction, the placement will be accurate. Note the imperfect pickup.
Have a happy autumn!
