Kiev, April - Silicon Valley Winter

Guys, 

I have proposal for you.

We will organize huge event in Silicon Valley next November-December. It will be oriented for Russian speaking people in SV and startup guys from Russian speaking word. We did it in 2005-2010 and it called Silicon Valley Open Doors Conference (SVOD). 

So, I am able (I have team and connections) to do such type of conference for "New Europe" Guys for the close date. Like one week befor e or late. If we can build Executive committee (5-7 persons) and 10-20 "ambassadors" in each country, looks like we can do it. 

I am sure, I can invite strong speakers (I did it for SVOD, IDCEE, iForum and few other).

Second. We are organising big conference (up to 10k participants) in Kiev 24 th of April. We are planning to around it one day conference or seminar for incubators, accelerators, preseed and seed funds from Eastern (may be + Central) Europe. I will be glad to see you there. Be sure, I can provide free participation for all of you if you will be able to come.

thanks for this. I will certainly consider Kiev in April. Regarding the Valley event, it sounds like something which might be really valuable if we do it right. Let me talk to my colleagues here in ZIP in a few days and then come back to you with more feedback.

i like the sound of the SV event. With the fall batch of Startup Sauna we're looking to do our SV demo day more towards January in the future. Gives the teams a bit over a month or so to implement the feedback they get during the program. That said, this is something we'd definitely be interested in being a part of.

Hey Denis, you keep your self really busy, that's great!

Silicon Valley event - I fully second Ivo. As we spoke about it earlier at the Pioneers, if we join forces and do it right, it could be very good news for CEE startups. I'm very interested so if there's anything I can help with, let me know.

Kiev event - as I have mentioned at our last meeting, me and my team are working on Node5 Accelerator programme focused on security and machine learning verticals. Naturally, I intend to attract some of the bright teams from Eastern europe too so if there will be any sort of panel where we can represent N5A it would be fantastic.

For both events, Node5 and me personally are ready to give full support in Czech Rep.

Count me in for spreading the word in Estonia.

GameFounders’ batch 3 will have a demo day in SF in November 2013. I would not recommend December as after Thanksgiving it is hard to get all the people you need to attend. If the time matches, we can combine the events for sure.

We have a partner accelerator in SF (IO Ventures) so I might also be able to help with some local stuff as well.

We prepared quick questionnaire about what do you think/need, because we need critical mass for execute that kind of project.

it seems SV attracts more and more :-)

StartupYard plans its US Trip Jan 28-Feb 8, 2013 and it seems companies love to travel for experience (if it makes sense I can report afterwards ...). Our group has grown to 30 ppl ~ 18 startups from CZ, SK, RU.

Tomaz, what about to join and hold New Europe event as a proof of concept for th BIG end of 2013? I'll drop you details on scheduling.

ZIP is definitely interested in both proposals - the Valley event late next year and the House.

Nikola - the house is bursting at the seems jan/feb next year, but I'll poke around to see if I can connect you with anyone.

I realized my last email was a bit confusing (I wrote it a day earlier and then slammed it into the discussion). The Startup House should encompass as many European funds, accelerators and incubators as possible. The information on the house in the previous email was pretty slim, we are in the final stages of preparing a ppt with the vision/idea for a broader audience of potential partners (yes, you), I can post it here for you guys to see if you'd be interested in joining. Ivo - would you have time for a Skype call? And anyone else who's interested - ping us, we'd love to talk to as many of you as possible before we finalize the ppt. Customer Discovery style.

Thank you for response. And sorry for delay.

I am working on IAS CEE Summit organization for April. Looks like it will be! IAS means Incubators, Accelerators and Seed Funds of CEE

So, for now I have about few request 10 from Russia and 30 from Europe (thanks to you guys) and I am sure we can have at least 100. I have confirmation from Seedcamp and Brain-to-Ventures and working on YC, I/O, Plugandplay, HackFWD as a speaker. Looks like I can do price about 200-300 euro for one day event (for subscribers of this group price will be zero). If I will have sponsors I will do about 100 euro. 

Sure, I will host smal workshop for 20 persons like it was in Vienna.

If you can good candidates to be a speaker from top10 ww IAS - let me know (via e-mail denn...@gmail.com). For now, I cant cover travels, but I working on it. 

Regarding Silicon Valley. Its looks like we able discuss it Kiev. Regarding dates, we need to do it before Thanksgiving day and after Leweb. I organized such type of events in Valley and 4 months for organizing will be ok.

So, after Ortodox Ukrainian Xmas (7th of JAN) I will send you more info.
