Bogdan, that depends on specific programs. Some programs are open to candidate countries (Croatia and Macedonia are both candidates) and some only to members. I'm happy to say that Croatia will be changing status in about 40 days, however :-)))

How to Web would be interested to participate and build a powerful consortium around the New Europe idea. In the last 3 years we had successful partnerships with Seedcamp, Springboard, TechHub, EEF, SEE ICT, Balkan Venture Forum and many others, so I'd say we'd be a pretty good partner :)

I can give you more details about what we do, who we are and our expertise on private. Ivo, you started this storm, will you setup a private list for this call?

Hi all

Just to express our interest as Digitalizuj.me movement & as company doMEn doo (.ME registry) that supports different activities in Montenegro.

Some thoughts from my side ... as there is a number of interested parties between all of us it would be great if we can exchange some idea about setting up consortium. Where it will be registered and who can participate form the term of EU/non EU members. If countries like Montenegro/Macedonia/Serbia can't participate directly is there a way we can close the gap with the support from the other countries/accelerators.

Can we agree on some kind of "universal policy" between the different incubator/accelerator so we know that we all work in similar way.

Most important I think, who will lead this consortium. 

By my opinion, it should be register in EU member country and led by someone from that country. I will be free to suggest Croatia and ZIP because of the geographic position from one side and the initiative from ZIP that is already taken first gathering us in Vienna and now sharing this info about the available funds. The only obstacle I see is the fact that HR is still not EU member (if the application should be submitted in short period of time - before HR become full EU member)

Hi!

It's safe to say we'd be interested in participating as well. However, we see our role mostly as a "contractor", not necessarily one of the top level applicants.

We've got more than a bit of experience in that field and would be happy to help and advise on how to get everything sorted. Our core business is educating entrepreneurs, so we would suggest that being are primary role as well. This is simply what we do best. The main goal of such a cooperation for us would have to be helping and educating entrepreneurs.

A couple of starting points for a productive discussion > make an overview of what the problems are startups (and startup entrepreneurs) face, our main focus should be on solving these problems, not only grabbing money and funds from the EU.

The problems we've been able to identify so far (this is in no way an exhaustive list) and shoud reflect in project:

 - entreprenurial state of mind (bringing it closer to that of Silicon Valley)

 - Connections with the global markets: capital, consumer and exit markets (again best solution is Silicon Valley)

 - tools that entrepreneurs need to get through the first hardest steps and position them strategically on the market (some sort of the Startup Management Toolbox)

As I've already said, we're probably too small to participate as an applicant, but we'd be glad to introduce you to the leading company in Slovenia in the field of R&D with years of experience in applying for EU funds - Xlab (cca. 100 people, EUR 5M+ yearly funds from EU grants). Let us know if you need that help.
