July meetup: Mon the 19th, 6:00pm Zoom - Dane County Election Results API

The July Code for Madison meetup will be Monday, July 19th at 6:00PM on Zoom.
This month, we’ll be taking a look at the Dane County Election Results API, and I’ll show a Javascript app that uses the API to show real-time results as they come in, using Vue.js and Leaflet.js. I’ll also touch on the simulator I built for the API to test with, and talk a little bit about the QGIS/Geopandas prep work to create the input dataset.
(Note that I’m a terrible Javascript programmer and would love to hear from folks who can help me think through a rewrite, because I’d like to make it into a standalone widget/component that either doesn’t depend on Vue, or makes the Vue dependency entirely self-contained and have a widget that could be used with React/Angular/just jQuery/standalone Javascript.)
We’ll also report-back about how the EV Hackathon from June went, and we’ll continue discussions about the future of the meetup and where we should take it over the next year.
