Dear Hacking HR fellows,

I'm conducting research and looking for real life examples about two areas of using Workday:
1) Automating HR processes
I personally have designed solution that automatically delivers updated PTO Accrual Report that is used for compliance purpose.
Another example of automation that I've done in another system, but I'm sure can be done in Workday as well is to link Benefits Life Events and Time and Attendance. It is a simple and well received automation, where requesting PTO for a reason that relates to a Benefits Life Event sends email with a reminder that the Benefits Enrollment might require a change and has a link to the Benefits site.

Would you share any examples of automating HR processes, ideally using Workday?
I'll be interested also to see any automation examples even not with Workday, so don't hesitate to share those as well.

2) User experience challenges with Workday
Another topic I'm researching is about usability with HR systems, particularly with Workday.
Although I find the systems to be overall user friendly, I think that it could also appear overwhelming when large number of worklets are enabled.

Would you share any examples that support either case:
a) 'Very User Friendly', and what makes if easy to use?
b) 'Not User Friendly', and what makes it difficult to use? How do you address that usability challenge?

I have plenty of information from Workday or from the HRIS vendors who mostly highlight the systems strength. I'm looking for the opinion of the real users, who spend their days working with systems to do their work and their direct experience perspective is truly valuable.

I'll highly appreciate any shared information or opinion.

Best regards,
Milen
