以下資訊提供對臨場示範的除錯問題有興趣的朋友 -

* 由於現場網路問題，造成 shotwell 吐出 "Peer failed to perform TLS handshake" 錯誤訊息
shotwell 完全沒有處理預期錯誤外的字串編碼，直接噴出錯誤，以至於產生中文翻譯亂碼。
* "Peer failed to perform TLS handshake" 出自 glib-networking, 錯誤為
GNUTLS_E_UNEXPECTED_PACKET_LENGTH
* 這可能是 facebook ssl server 實做或 gnutls library 問題。

比較簡單的修法是調整 glib-networking 的容錯。正解是修正 gnutls 處理 facebook server 的相容性。
pidgin facebook chat plugin 也碰到類似的問題，他們直接用 workaround[1] 來處理。
