What's the best way to approach challenge owners?

Hey all! I'm the GA for an upcoming university hackathon at Northern Illinois University called Huskie Hack (excuse the website; we're working on it). 

We're re working on approaching community organizations in order to get challenges. Does anyone have information on templates, emails on how they contacted these orgs for challenges?
