Just forwarding official confirmation from the national team of the 2014 National Day of Civic Hacking. May 31-June 1 is the date, though local events don't have to adhere strictly to that.

Reminder--our first planning meeting for the 2014 event is this Thursday, 2/20 from 6-8 PM in Northampton: 378 Pleasant Street (HealthLens).

Thanks, Andrew, for getting the space. Look forward to seeing all you old and new planners on Thursday!

Hi everyone,
I'm so excited to get to be even more involved in this year's National Day of Civic Hacking, and hope that every one of you feels the same.

A few updates:

Date: The date is official - we're on for May 31-June 1, 2014. Spread the word.

Website: A new page will be up soon at hackforchange.org - watch for it.

What to do now: If you are planning an event, please go to this form and get your information entered as soon as possible! Also be sure that you and your key team members have joined the Google group

What will come soon: Coming soon is more information about resources and dates for local lead calls. Watch for a formal update via email in two weeks. We will start holding monthly planning calls in March with all city leads.

Feel free to reach out to me or the group with any questions between now and then. Our team is really looking forward to working with you all, and seeing the next evolution of what's possible with collaborative civic hacking.

Let's get this party started. :)

Best,
Ali for the team

Hello NDoCH Organizers! We are really excited about National Day of Civic Hacking in 2014.

Just like last year, SecondMuse will be working to grow and maintain the national initiative and - most importantly - support all of you with your local planning. I can't tell you how much I appreciate being able to take the role of leading that effort last year. I am extremely excited that this year I'll be passing that torch to my colleague Ali Llewellyn to lead National Day of Civic Hacking!

Ali will be taking on the lead role for 2014. She joined SecondMuse last year. Prior to joining SecondMuse, Ali was a project lead at NASA's Open Innovation Program and ran the very successful 2013 International Space Apps Challenge. That event was the largest civic hacking event ever... until NDoCH surpassed it a few months later! I have been working with Ali for years and I'm excited for her to get to know all of you. I will be joining Ali on the project team as well, so you'll still see my name floating around and involved in all of the discussion.

Ali is going to be following up here with announcements about NDoCH in 2014.

Here we go!

Best,
Michael Brennan
