Hi

I saw a promotional display at Carrefour for this product called "Battizer" (http://www.battizer.com/), which claims to efficiently, and safely recharge Alkaline batteries.

It's apparently a Singaporean company, and I was just wondering if anyone has come across them before, or have more info regarding their tech.

Cheers
Stephan

Looks interesting. Any bad reviews on it?

The information they give on their site is a bit vague!  "Battizer Alkaline Battery Charger uses a heatless technology" :)
I would suggest reading the fine print letters of usage before buying this.

re-charging alkaline batteries is not something new, its just risky because they can leak and god knows how many crappy batteries are out there..

Hi... reasonable review here:

http://techielobang.com/blog/2010/08/23/battizer-alkaline-battery-charger-review/

Does not look too convincing a product, really. Also the English on the website is pretty poor... " Battizer Alkaline Battery Charger uses a heatless technology that does not generate heat." Does not exactly inspire confidence!

Cheers.

It's just tautology. Nothing particularly wrong with that sentence, surely? On
the other hand, it looks like the review in that blog you linked shows that the
batteries do at least get a little warm during charging.

Ya, I guess you are right. Just a little poetic stress :-)

Recharging involves convincing the original chemical layers to reform - but relies on the battery structure to still be intact. Judging by the number of alkaline batteries that become mini swimming pools inside my suffering equipment, my hopes are not high. :-(

Still it's good to try to be green, eh?

Cheers.

Swimming pools, and not rocky crystal formations?
