If you do not need it to run payroll or make the claim, I prefer
quickbooks desktop US version. Setting up your accounts can be done
easily to meet Singapore requirements (incl GST!). There is no awesome
book-keeping software but QB desktop has flexibility that other
software does not and a reasonable price point.
MYOB is not an easy software to use once you start doing foreign
currency transactions, need to generate multi-period reports or make
changes to multiple records. In other words if your accountant does
not use MYOB, you may have some problems. The MOYB version with multi-
currency and payroll is pretty expensive too (last I checked $1288).
I know alot of users like the web-based software like xero, free agent
and such. Personally as a book-keeper I do alot of adjustments at year
end or change account allocations and I hate the click-load-click-load
it takes to change each transaction.
Just my 2 cents.

AND its not fully customisable to all Singapore report printing, just
80%.
AND its significantly more expensive that quickbooks US.
Its worth noting the quickbooks company in the US is Intuit. The
quickbooks desktop Singapore version is created by an Australian
company for Australia, then minor edits have been made to suit
Singapore requirements for payroll, changing VAT to GST, etc.
It uses what looks like the same skin as quickbooks US but an entirely
different company file structure. If I had to guess I would say they
licensed all of the display elements and some of the content features
but none of the back end.
Intuit in the US has partnered with Singtel to sell a Singapore
version of quickbooks online but accountants I work with have all
found issues with the content management and it seems there are caps
on things like number of invoices you can issue before you are forced
to jump to the highest version at $33/month. That's more than the US
desktop version.
I have not looked at it myself. Might be a nice end of year project :)
