I played with AVR's back in the day, but finding the right programmer
for it was annoying. Especially when I was a poor student trying to
learn how things worked. I felt that the Arduino's helped by making
the programming much simpler (and the IDE ofcourse)..

What's the simplest/cheapest way to program an AVR these days?

Hey Stephen,

This looks like a really cool way to cut deployment costs.

You have the benefits of the Arduino development environment with the
low cost of deployment.

You cannot overstate the benefits of the Arduino IDE for speeding up
development.

It took about a day to get it working because I was overusing the
pins.

I did the same thing on an ARM and it took about a week.

We are working on a few advanced classes. Please send your
suggestions.
