As we like to say, we're the only place to get a soldering iron at 3am :)
The Sydney hackerspace has lots of strange and wonderful equipment, like a plastic extruder 3D printer, a CNC router, stick welding, a mini metal lathe, computers, a galileoscope, a back catalogue of Make: magazine, Dremels, hot wire cutters, a rock tumbler, a sewing machine, about fifteen soldering irons and hot glue guns, and wireless internet. We're in the process of buying a laser cutter and one of our members is building a forge.
We also have a Junk Room full of donated electronics, parts and materials that you can pull apart, explore, and build something new.
But the thing we like the most: we're the only hackerspace in the world to have a genuine Slurpee machine. (Though we're still hacking it to make it work.)
Our space is a three-bedroom house in southern Sydney, and we're open for general hacking every Saturday form 11am. Members get 24/7 RFID swipe access to the space.
