If you look in the device manager under windows or the /dev directory under linux, you can see the usb seriwl port of your wireless modem.
AT command do work, at least they do with my huawei E169.
Just be careful you dont "brick" a modem you want.
Only reason I tried was in the documentation it mentions you can link 2 of them, peer to peer.
Of course they dont actually tell you how to do P2P, that would be way too easy!
But I did manage to dump the registers and dial, but that was as far as I got.
