I couldn't link my Personal Dictionary from my Touch Input to Hacker's
Keyboard.

Is there a way to back up the word saved in Hacker's Keyboard?

FYI:
I'm using HTC sensation.

Thank you,
Hong

Unfortunately I don't think that's possible. Typically, Android applications each use their own private storage, and it's not possible to read another app's private data for security reasons. It's also not possible for the phone owner to directly extract data unless you have a rooted phone. Unless there's some kind of official interface offered by the application to export the dictionary, I don't see an obvious way to do this, but I haven't investigated this more closely.

It would certainly be nice if hacker's keyboard had its own personal/
custom dictionary, for storing frequently used phrases like one's
email addersses, etc.

Check the system's settings for "Keyboard and languages", it should have a "User dictionary" menu item. Any words you add there should show up as completion suggestions in the keyboard.

I'm also working on customizable key layout support (http://code.google.com/p/hackerskeyboard/issues/detail?id=13), this would allow adding frequently-used words or phrases as key bindings.

+1000 on having a personal, editable dictionary. I've seen lots of references to this in searches, but unless I'm just not looking for the right search terms, this functionality appears to not be in Oreo, at least on my Galaxy S8. There also was a way to clear said list, but while I don't want to do THAT, I don't see that option either.

W/ my Moto G5+ (Oreo 8.1), the personal dictionary is quickest found under Settings > Type "Dictionary" (in top-most Search bar) > Personal Dictionary (as 1st option) > Personal Dictionary (toward bottom of screen > Choose language of dictionary > Edit to 1's heart's content 😀

Else, [ Settings > System > Languages & Input » Advanced > Personal Dictionary > Choose language ] is the long way.

As always, any long-press added words are here, too, but whatever can be added here — e.g., I often add alternative capitalizations of terms

From what I have read now, the personal dictionary appears to only be in 8.1, not 8.0, darn it. And who knows if the GS8 will be updated again, given its age. <sigh>

Turns out this apparently is a function in 8.1, not 8.0, darn it. Thanks tho.

Well, darn. My Samsung GS8 was updated to v9 a few weeks ago, but I still don't have this option.

Samsung insists on doing things it's own way.

However, Google turned up this;

Settings > General Management > Language And Input > Virtual Keyboard > Samsung Keyboard > Predictive Text > Text Shortcuts.

_Please_ Lettuce know if that works.

What version? My Samsung GS8 was recently updated to vs 9, but I do not have any reference to "virtual keyboard" at all, let alone the rest :( <sigh>

I also no longer appear to have it ask if I want to save a new dictionary entry (and also no references to said dictionary) darn it.
