Hi All,
I have been thinking about putting together an indicator for the front door to the build that will show if the door is locked or not.
Thinking about this and it might actually be quite a complex project. There are a couple of properties that make this hard.
1. The sensor needs to be wireless to the space/internet.
2. The door has two sets of locks in use(that I know of)
i. A timed electronic lock at the top
ii. A manual pin tumbler lock at the bottom.
3. The door is normally loosely closed(easy to check), but can also be tightly lock(hard to differentiate)
4. Anything we put in needs to be unobtrusive. We can't really modify anything around the door.
I think me and Iain are already working on a solution to 1. as part of another project. The other issues seem harder to address, I'm not sure I can think of anything that will work for this.
Does anyone have ideas on how to solve this problem that aren't full of holes? I might even take only small holes in the idea.
