Hey foks,

Tonight is our regular Tuesday get together(if it really is Tuesday). I understand that Malcolm will be collecting dues this evening so bring that a long.

Over the weekend a door system has been put in place, but it is still a work in progress. We also have a read/write site for status and dues up.

If folks can give a heads up to the list with what they will be working on it will give everyone a chance to get a head start on the conversations.

I will be looking with disdain at the surface mount components I bought last week, maybe trying to hack something together with nodejs.

I'll be doing some more work on the door entry stuff. There's a few things on my todo list: improve the software to make it easier to add cards, add a button to trigger the timed release from inside to make it easier to lock the door again, add some kind of feedback from the card checkin, and swap out the Atom box and arduino for a beagle bone black. Also need to do something a bit tidier with the wires than the current taped to the wall approach once we get the final configuration wired up.

 

It should now work to open the door with a magnetic swipe card on the allowed list; so if folks can bring along a suitable card this evening we can populate that list.
