- The source code can be found here: https://code.google.com/p/hackbar/ (And i’m in the process of moving it here: https://github.com/johan-adriaans/hackbar)
- The layout language is XUL and the rest is Javascript
- There is no IDE, just use any text editor.
- Building and compiling a test plugin is pretty easy. Just add extract the xpi (it’s a zip file) into your firefox profile/extensions directory. If you want to debug your code you need a workflow though. You should read up on developing extensions. This looks promising: http://lifehacker.com/264490/how-to-build-a-firefox-extension
May I ask why you need this information in such a hurry?
