Sowhat does the bible say about money management? To help you manage your money well, we reviewed over a hundred Bible verses about money, money management, and money trouble to see what God has to say about this critical piece of life.

So, what does the Bible say about money and wealth? The bible is packed with over 2,000 scriptures about money, tithing in the Bible, and possessions. That's twice as many bible verses about money than faith and prayer combined. So, what the Bible says about money must be important.

There are two good reasons why the Church talks so often about money. First, the reason the Church talks about money is because God talks about money. Consider these statistics on verses about money in the bible:

"Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need."

Without getting into the details about the biblical view of wealth and poverty, we do find many examples and commands in the Bible verses about money about taking care of the poor, widows, and orphans. God has provided a safety net for people in three different ways: the family, the church, and the state.

Now, on the other side of this coin, we also observe many examples and commands in the Bible encouraging Christians to work diligently. Since we are created in the image of God, we are hardwired to work, to create. What is more, God has commanded us to work.

There are many positive benefits associated with gainful employment. However, since sin has entered the world, we will be tempted to worship work (make it our god), reject work (become lazy), or twist work (do something sinful).

Jesse Wisnewski likes to think of himself as one part marketer, one part team builder, and equal parts family man. He has held marketing roles at PhoneBurner, Tithe.ly, HarperCollins Christian Publishing, B&H Publishing Group, and a large nonprofit. When he's not immersed in marketing, he's chasing around his kids with his wife, grilling, exercising, and trying to be active members of their local church, as well.

For the most part, individuals living within Western democracies enjoy an abundance of wealth. We have more physical things, money and affluence than any other societies in history. But has it brought happiness? Do people feel satisfied?

Advertisements continually push us to buy now and pay later. Offers for credit cards, blank checks and second mortgages flood our mailboxes. Buying on credit has become the norm! Of course, credit can be used as a safe and convenient tool in some cases and it may even be necessary at times. However, if one is not extremely careful to pay debts off in a timely fashion it can become a real danger!
