Congratulations to the Sow Family!

The Sow Family Dedication was this past Saturday, December 3rd 2011. Friends, Family and Volunteers gathered to welcome the Sows into their new home that afternoon for a very emotional dedication. Thank You to Thrivent, Duralee, and all of our sponsors and volunteers for making their dream a reality!

Welcome Vivian Becker, Habitat Suffolk’s new Executive Director!
Vivian Becker, a recognized affordable housing professional with a strong background in building mission-driven, well-managed non-profit agencies was recently named the new Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Suffolk.
She is the former CEO of Neighborhood Housing Services of Waterbury, CT. (NHSW,) where she executed a new strategic direction that resulted in the turnaround of the financially troubled housing agency, including a pipeline for affordable rental and housing development.  She gained significant community development experience as Executive Director of the Pratt Area Community Council in Brooklyn, NY.  Later she led the Bronx–based St. Raymond Community Outreach Inc. (SRCO) in their efforts to build the area’s first community center within a large condominium and rental housing complex.
Vivian Becker will be responsible for growing our Habitat Suffolk affiliate, already one of the largest in the world, and for developing more affordable housing opportunities for low-income families in Suffolk County.  We proudly welcome Vivian Becker, Habitat Suffolk’s Executive Director!
