Think about your daughter and do the right thing!" Capstone Pictures has revealed an official trailer for a sci-fi survival thriller titled Breathe, the latest by a director named Stefon Bristol, who also made the small scale sci-fi comedy See You Yesterday previously. This is his latest creation, directing a script about a future on an uninhabitable Earth - as depicted with a heavy orange filter. Lots of climate change near-future sci-fi movies doing this nowadays. Air-supply is scarce in the near future, forcing a mother and daughter to fight to survive when two strangers arrive desperate for an oxygenated haven inside their bunker. Breathe stars Jennifer Hudson and Quvenzhan Wallis (from Beasts of the Southern Wild) as mother and daughter, with Milla Jovovich, Sam Worthington, Common, Ral Castillo, James Saito, Dan Martin, and Kaliswa Brewster. Yet another surprise sci-fi film arriving in theaters soon! It's also debuting on VOD on the same day, which isn't a good sign. Something is off about this, doesn't seem like it's going to work at all.

A heart pounding thriller set in the future. After Earth is left uninhabitable due to lack of oxygen, a mother Maya (Hudson) and her daughter Zora (Wallis) are forced to live underground, with trips to the surface only made possible by a coveted state of the art oxygen suit made by Maya's husband, Darius, whom she presumes to be dead. When a mysterious couple arrives that claim to know Darius and his fate, Maya agrees to let them into their bunker but these visitors are not who they claim to be resulting in a mother and daughter fighting for their survival. Breathe is directed by American genre filmmaker Stefon Bristol, making his second feature after directing the time travel film See You Yesterday previously, as well as a few other shorts. The screenplay is written by Doug Simon. Produced by Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Christian Mercuri. This hasn't premiered at any festivals or elsewhere, as far as we know. Capstone will debut Bristol's Breathe in select US theaters + on VOD starting April 26th, 2024 coming up this spring. Look any good?

With the boom in e-commerce, our roads are busier than ever, leading to increased congestion and pollution. However, the rise of electric trailer trucks offers a solution that aligns with city-wide bans on diesel vehicles in urban centers across Europe. These vehicles are not only crucial for reducing urban pollution but also for shaping a sustainable freight transportation system.

Electric trailer trucks provide significant environmental benefits over traditional diesel trucks by eliminating tailpipe emissions and significantly reducing noise pollution. This makes them ideal for nighttime deliveries in urban areas, minimizing the impact on residents and increasing operational hours without breaking noise ordinances.

Electric trucks enhance road safety through advanced technology features. They are often equipped with automatic emergency braking systems, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assists. The improved stability and handling due to the lower center of gravity from battery placement also contribute to a safer driving experience.

Some trucks also have improved visibility for the driver by utilizing more cameras to see blind spots or, as is the case for the Volta Zero (see more below), a much improved seating position for the driver that improves visibility.

Volvo leads the charge with the FH16 Aero, known for its efficiency and reduced environmental impact. This truck is designed to cut fuel consumption and emissions without compromising on power, making it a prime example of Volvo's commitment to greener transport solutions.

A game-changer in the sector, the Tesla Semi boasts an impressive range and rapid charging capabilities, setting new standards for electric freight vehicles. It decreases cargo transit times thanks to its high-speed performance and long-range capabilities.

Volta Trucks focuses on urban deliveries with the Volta Zero model. This truck is specifically designed for city use, featuring a unique central and low position for the driver (giving much improved visibility) and great maneuverability, suitable for tight urban streets.

The future looks bright for electric trailer trucks as they begin to dominate urban delivery services. With advancements in battery technology and charging infrastructure, these vehicles are set to become even more prevalent. Governments and businesses are recognizing the potential of electric trucks in achieving emission reduction targets and improving city living conditions.

As more companies invest in developing electric models, the benefits extend beyond environmental impact. Operators find that electric trucks offer reduced maintenance costs and lower operating expenses compared to diesel counterparts.

Electric trailer trucks are at the forefront of transforming the freight industry. They not only contribute to cleaner air and quieter streets but also offer an economically viable alternative to traditional models as they become more accessible and practical for companies to integrate into their fleets.

The commitment to electric truck technology signifies a major shift towards sustainable practices in logistics and transportation, promising a cleaner, quieter, and more efficient future for freight operations.

Georgia's volunteer fire departments in Taliaferro and Warren counties have expanded their operational capabilities, thanks to the DoD Firefighter Property Program and the Defense Logistics Agency Disposition Services.

While browsing the DLA Disposition Services website, Cranata discovered two trailers containing Cascade Systems, which are essential for refilling firefighters' air tanks during operations. Unlike stationary setups in firehouses, these portable units refill air tanks on-site.

"In a four-hour structure fire, a department with only 20 cylinders would exhaust its air supply. To replenish the air, they either need to transport the empty cylinders back to the station or request additional tanks," Cranata explained.

Recognizing the value of these mobile Cascade Systems, Cranata reached out to the volunteer fire departments of Taliaferro and Warren counties. Although they already had stationary cascade systems, the portable trailers offered a unique solution to their cylinder availability constraints, enhancing their readiness for immediate emergency response.

Both departments decided to pick up the trailers themselves, the more cost-effective option compared to transport costs if handled by forestry.

He added that the impact these trailers will make goes beyond the two counties that acquired them. Surrounding areas with mutual aid agreements will also benefit when the trailers are deployed to fires in their respective aeras.

In a stark future where Earth's air is no longer safe, the few remaining survivors would be left to scrap and claw for every last store of oxygen. That's the terrifying reality imagined by Stefon Bristol's upcoming action thriller Breathe, which stars Jennifer Hudson and Quvenzhan Wallis as a mother and daughter who are limited to living underground when the surface becomes uninhabitable. A new trailer shared today shows their desperate fight for survival when confronted by strangers seeking shelter whose intentions may not be as benevolent as they initially seem.

The events of Breathe are set in motion after Maya's (Hudson) husband and genius inventor Darius (Common) leaves their bunker for a longer outing, only to presumably run out of oxygen and die on the surface. Alone and forced to make excursions themselves, Maya and her daughter Zora (Wallis) try to get by, but danger quickly finds them when they run into two survivors during one trip. One of them, Tess (Milla Jovovich), pleads for the pair to let her into their bunker, so she can examine and replicate Darius's oxygen generator. Her plan could help save the planet, but she shows her true colors after shutting off their power and preparing to let them suffocate. While her intentions are unknown, it's clear she and her fellow survivors will go to any lengths to seize the oxygen they need, forcing Maya and Zora into a tense fight for their lives.

Breathe becomes a gritty, intense actioner in the second half of its trailer. As Maya and Zora leave the safety of their bunker behind, they confront the survivors head-on in the harsh, brightly-colored post-apocalyptic wasteland where one well-placed shot or ambush could leave them without air. To ensure they can live peacefully, they'll have to confront the group of survivors where they live. In addition to Jovovich, the mother and daughter will come into contact with Sam Worthington and Ral Castillo, among others, during their excursion.
