Hi out there,

I updated the 0.6-alpha from an earlier version to the one of 4th
december. Now I got a problem with char encoding.

On Posts like here: http://blog.florian-fiegel.net/frohes-neues-jahr-2009
the umlauts ä,ö,ü and ß, … and – are displayed as .
This comes up also in the editor in adminpanel.

I didn't change anything on the server, so it has to be something that
changed in the alpha. Or did I oversaw a change on templates?

Thx for your help!

regards,
Florian

Florian,
I understand that you are on a revision between r2909 (November
30th) and r2951 (December 15th). You should upgrade at least to r2951,
which dealt with this issue: http://trac.habariproject.org/habari/changeset/2951

Oh, okay!

How can I load a version from trunk? I only used head download until
now. Can't find a manual to read … :-/

Sorry,
I didn't see that HEAD is stuck at December 4th (I was wondering why
you had upgraded to an old revision...).
I have requested a fix in the IRC channel, someone with access to
hp.o will update the .zip file soon. Otherwise, can you do a SVN
checkout and upload the /htdocs folder to your server?

No problem, checked out the svn and updated. But the Char-Encoding is
still broken … :-(

Maybe something on the Theme?

I thought r2951 would fix all of this.

Can you please check if your system/schema/mysql/upgrades folder
contains the file 2951.sql?
What collation is your database (it should be utf8_unicode_ci now),
and what was it before the change?

A few more links for reference:

You did a backup of your database before upgrading this morning,
right? :)

2951.sql is there.

Loaded the Backup and tried again. Fixed it.

Thx, I just didn't set the database back to the state before the
update …

I've manually generated a new zip file. Why the cron stopped working has yet to be determined...
