Dashboard modules in list of blocks for theme areas

Hello,
Why are the dashboard modules in the list of blocks for theme areas?
If I add the dashboard modules ... they are also added to the list of blocks in the area section of the themes.
If I delete these blocks in the theme area section, the dashboard modules are removed from the dashboard.
