I've been thinking about this for a while now, never got a chance to
work on it, so hopefully someone will do it.

We could ship or provide a user/classes or system/classes themes can
use. It would contain somewhat complex functions commonly used by
themes.. recent comments, latest posts, auto-detect title or urls..
stuff that would repeat itself from theme.php to theme.php, yet save
precious time to new theme devs and also reduce repetition of code, as
well as centralize dependent code, if the Habari community can
maintain it, it will be compatible with the latest Habari, maintaining
a theme when its creator goes away can be a PITA, this would prevent
such hassles.

Ideas? Suggestions on what it should contain?

Michael H, Michael B, Sean E, Robin and others, what do you commonly
use in your themes?

Sounds like a good idea, however, a lot of the snippets I've used in
the few themes I've done, having it in theme.php makes it easier for a
user to customize (change tag names, number of posts/comments shown,
etc). If these were given parameters, that would certainly remedy
that issue. Is that what you are proposing?
