A new version 2.4.240 of H2 is available at http://www.h2database.com
(you may have to click 'Refresh') and

Hi,

FYI it will take some time (possibly a few days) until the new version is uploaded to the central Maven repository (maven.org / sonatype.org). This is because of a change in the way to upload newer versions to Sonatype. So, if you use Maven, consider downloading the new version directly from the H2 database website.

Hello, thanks for the new release.

I know, backups are always recommended, but is it required to backup and restore the databases when migrating from 2.3.x to 2.4.x?

(I know, this step was definitively required from 1.4 to 2.0 and maybe also - but here I'm unsure - from 2.2 to 2.3) 

Or - in other words - are there any known incompatibilities, that a 2.4 driver cannot open database files created with 2.3 driver?
