Hello Friends,

Hi Harry,

I'm also struggling with this. I posted this query yesterday but nobody has yet replied. Moreover, there is no adequate help available on the net related to this. Please help as this is very urgent .

   Thanks.

Hi,
you should provide more info what exactly you want to do. I don't
understand what does it mean to "map h2 database with oracle using
java code".

Thanks Sergi for the reply.

Actually we already had Oracle database. As per the documents provided by H2 team that it is compatible with Oracle. Now without touching the Oracle database we want to load the h2 driver and data should be pulled from Oracle database( again, H2 is compatible with Oracle). Hope this makes everything clear. Let me know if not.

We are using H2 only in Oracle mode. But your question somehow implies
that you think you can "hook" up H2 to a Oracle database and it
"pulls" data from it.......

Compatible with Oracle means that all your queries don't need to be
rewritten when working with H2, but H2 is not able to connect to a
Oracle database and "import" data from it. Either you make a
export/import or get your data into H2 with some other method.

If I'm mistaken, then please excuse.

Kind Regards,
Nitai

Yes, compatibility mode is only about syntax and behavior in some
special cases.
See http://h2database.com/html/features.html#compatibility
You want to move database from oracle to h2 or you want to have access
to oracle database from h2?
You can access external databases from H2 using linked tables or using
stored procedures.
See http://h2database.com/html/advanced.html#linked_tables
http://h2database.com/html/features.html#user_defined_functions

Thanks Sergi and Nitai. Your inputs are valid. I'm worng and iam trying to hook h2 with Oracle.. Every database is little differ from each other and that's why h2 asks for the parameter MODE. Now every picture is clear.

Thanks again to both of yu.
