Found this in some old conversation:   

"In relation to the cache_size info equal to 0, it's worthy to note that when you changes the cache size in MV STORE, the current cache is cleared. " 

Is this still true and can data get lost when the cache is cleared?

I believe so. Cache will be cleared, but it does not mean that you are going to loose any data, just potential slowdown due to empty cache
