Implementing Hash Join Algorithm in H2 Database

If I were to implement a hash join algorithm for the H2 database for a university course where would I start? Is there any source code documentation? The closest I got to browsing through the code was the JoinBatch.java file? If H2 already has a Hash Join algorithm where is it located? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
