We would need someone with the following requirements:
• Good knowledge of C++
• Experience with Windows programming environment and using Microsoft Visual Studio
• Good English language skills.
Here are some tasks that should not involve too much learning curve:
Generate new CIGI 3 and CIGI 4 host samples
Our current Host samples are about 20 years out of date and don’t use the recommended CIGI librarires. We could do with a new Host sample that customers who are unfamiliar with CIGI could use as a starting point for developing their Host. It needs to use CigiCCL library and at least one example use of the CCLQ3dExt.lib which is a CIGI library for the Q3D CIGI extensions.
The existing X-Plane plugin might be a good thing to use. The code would need cleaning up and commenting to make it easier to understand. It already uses CigiCCL but would need the CCLQ3dExt.lib example added.
Create Prepare3D plugin
We currently have X-Plane plugin, but not Prepare3D. The Prepare3D plugin that AERX made for Conair is their own proprietary code. I’m not sure if it’s possible but maybe we could extend the X-Plane plugin to also work with Prepare3D. If not we will need two separate plugins.
Add CIGI Symbol packets to MUT
Our Mantis Unit Test (MUT) software is used for testing and validating our CIGI interface. I recently added support for CIGI Symbols to Mantis, but the MUT currently cannot generate CIGI Symbol packets. It would be good to add support for this to the MUT.
