G's,
First of all, since I will be gone for the next 2
weekends, I want to wish everyone a very safe and happy holiday! I would
also like to take this opportunity to let you all know that I am honored to have
spent the last year riding with such a great group of people. I am
eternally grateful for your friendship and the memories you have given me.
Thanks to all of you and Merry Christmas!
For the A & A- Groups, there will be a change
in ride leaders due to the holidays. Bert, Smith, Tom and myself will all
be out of town this weekend but Ed has graciously offered to lead. This is
for this Saturday 12/19. His ride info is listed below. (Weather
looks very iffy so he may post a ride weather update early on Saturday
morning. Geez, a winter storm warning? Where did that come
from?)
For Saturday, 12/26, Bert, Smith and myself will
still be out of town but Tom will be back and has offered to lead that Saturday
so please look for his post sometime next week. Thanks Tom.
ALSO, I want to give everyone an early heads up for
the New Years Day Road Dog Ride. This is all the information I have on it
now but I will post it again the week of 12/28 as a reminder.

(B GROUPS - Maria/Leslie)
Information to come
SUNDAY RIDE
(12/20):
1. Kim's Recovery Ride
leaves from Blue Jay Point @ 9am. (38 miles @ 17-18mph
pace)
2. Mike's Gyro
Touring Ride
ROUTE: TBD
PACE: 14-16mph - No drop but
you MUST be able to maintain the minimum pace.
MONDAY RIDE:
Hal's Ride is cancelled for the
season.
TUESDAY RIDE:
Rick's Ride cancelled
(Temporarily)
WEDNESDAY:
Andy's Ride is cancelled for the
season.
THURSDAY:
Dave's Ride is cancelled for the
season.
THE PLAN:
One or more groups will leave with the intent of
riding as a group at a target pace. We will try to cover the same routes, albeit
a shorter distance for the slower group, so if you're struggling or want to ride
at an easier pace, you can move back to a slower group. If you're already in the
slowest group, the ride leader will check to make sure you can make your way
back alone or with another volunteer. You'll know within the first 7 miles
whether or not you're strong enough to maintain the pace. The general rule is
that you should be able to maintain at least a 19+mph pace for the A Group,
18mph pace for 40-50 miles with the B+ Group or a 16mph pace for 30-40 miles
with the B Group, when considering which group to ride with. If you can not
maintain these paces, then it is suggested that you consider the C/B- Sunday
ride. (Please refer to the link above).
Each group should make a
concerted effort to keep the group together but there will always be those who
want to pick up the pace on the return. It is more appropriate to do this the
last 5-7 miles of a ride. The short hammer sessions, that are always inevitable
during our rides, will not be affected.

link below.
