Hello everyone! This is Palinda, President of Young Biologists' Association (YBA) Sri Lanka. Yes, as Sudarsha informed, lets put up something massive. We have organised Young Environmental Symposiums for Sri Lankan students primarily, but not an event reaching global.I would like to see youth from 16/18 - 30 taking part on practical environment work, as well as research. We need to cater best practices, it will be important to highlight research, but also the little things that can make big changes (not only research therefore).Hope we need a discussion for sure and then met for some work plan organizing.Let me know,Kind Regards,Palinda--On Sun, Dec 15, 2013 at 12:13 PM, SUDARSHA DE SILVA <sudars...@gmail.com> wrote:
Dear AllI hope everyone is getting ready for Christmas, Well i want to share some valuable information with my colleagues in the GYBN. As you'll know World Conference on Youth will be in Sri-Lanka in 2014 & UN-CBD COP 12 will be held in Korea in October 2014.I was having a discussion with the Young Biology Association of Sri Lanka affiliated with zoology faculty of University of Sri Jayawardenapura & Ministry of Environment about these two events. Good news is that there is a possibility of having a youth bio diversity symposium in Sri Lanka and presenting a global youth document for the World Youth Conference 2014 also to include them in the delegation of the World youth conference in May as well as for the UN CBD COP 12 in Korea. So i was talking about the international task force to organize the youth symposium who we can include if we're doing the program and i mentioned GYBN as well as GO4Biodiv. Also Ministry of Environment have the possibility of conveying the message to environment ministries in other countries in facilitating the travel expenses and for visas.
So i would like to meet up on skype and discuss more about this whole process.Thank you--
