Should we have a board meeting before we have an informational meeting? I think it might be good for applicants to see an event before we ask them to apply to better get the idea of what we're about and the scope of the GHN. Either way, Thursday works for me
Here is the list of the potential dates and events:
Brown bag lunch technical skills building workshop--October 7 (monday) or October 9 (wednesday) from 12:15-1:30
-led by Dr. Waldman
-topic to be determined but Human Ops with a focus on nutrition/food security
-once we have a date, I'll solidify the topic with him
Second Year Informal Student Panel--October 21 (mon) or October 24 (Thursday) at 7:30/8:00
-specific for the global health track--not all of sphhs
-we could have one rep from each concentration (eoh, policy, comm, dme, mgmt)
Career Building series--two part series (maybe 3) to take place Monday November 11 and 18 from 12:00-1:30/2:00
-topics to be determined--I wanted to take a look at what they presented on last year
-resumes/cover letters/interviewing/networking
-3 panelists for each workshop--hopefully those in the org that do recruiting
-potential orgs: InterAction (different than International
Action and I'd really like to network with them); WFP; Accordia GH
Foundation; Save the Children; PATH; PSI; WASH advocates; FHI360.
2 Annual (though I think we have to call is semi-annual now) Panel
Luncheon to be held Friday, November 22 (before Thanksgiving) or
December 6
