Hello! We have received several applications for GHN board, but not for all positions:

President - Nadia Hussain (1)
Vice President - Stephanie Farrow
Treasurer - Nadia Hussain (2)
Community Involvement Chair - Lizbeth Alvarez, Paulina Sosa (2), Kristely Bastian
Special Events Chair - Jane Tingley, Paulina Sosa (1)
Department Liaison - Paulina Sosa (3)

If they applied for more than one, I've listed what their preferences were. We need to decide what to do - go ahead with elections and then offer those who were not chosen for their preferred position the other positions that we need filled?

The other option I see is to open it further and specify which positions we need filled.

Let me know what you think

Was Communications Chair the only position we're missing?

Yes, except that Nadia is the only person to apply for President and for Treasurer, so that's like one of those positions won't be filled.

Gotcha. I think option #1 would be the most fair at this point. And if they don't want the remaining positions, we'll have to open it up again.

Agreed with Kirsty as well. I believe that's how last years board handled it as well. It seems most fair and I think overall the fewer positions we have to re-open the better because we could run into a similar problem as last time and not have applicants.

Agreed. I think we should go ahead with elections and then talk to those who did not receive their first choice.

OK! I sent out the survey, you should have got it in an email from the listserv. My mind isn't working today so I have the elections running until October 18 - if responses die down before then we'll close it earlier. And once results are in we can decide what to do with vacant spots/people who applied for several, etc.
