How can I programmatically click the red x (cancel/remove) button?

Is it possible to programmatically click the red x (cancel/remove) button? What I would like to do is after the use has browsed for and uploaded a file and they browse/upload a second one, I'd like to remove/delete any indication of the first upload?

How would I programmatically call gwtupload UploadAction removeItem?
