The first release candidate of GWTEventService 1.2 is released now.

Highlights of GWTEventService 1.2 are the support for multiple /
shared sessions, automatic reconnect and support for streaming as an
optional alternative to long-polling. This release also contains some
bug-fixes and a lot of background improvements.
GWTEventService 1.2 is also the first version which is built with
Maven instead of Ant.

The complete changelog can be found here:
http://gwteventservice.googlecode.com/svn/branches/1.2/release-notes.html

Note: Some of the new features (multiple session support and auto-
reconnect) may require to get activated explicitly. That is because
every project should be able to upgrade from GWTEventService 1.1 to
1.2 without any unexpected changes. To setup a new project
the pre-configured configuration files may be used which contain the
currently recommended settings (for example two reconnect attempts on
connection issues).

Thank you for your interest and support of GWTEventService.

Best regards,

Sven S.

Thanks Sven.

I built my own from the 1.2 branch the other day, and it worked nicely in a quick test against my 1.2-SNAPSHOT-based application.  But now I see the GWTEventService artifacts are in a maven repo at http://gwteventservice.googlecode.com/svn/maven/repository/ which is great to see!

Is anything happening with Maven Central deployment? - http://code.google.com/p/gwteventservice/issues/detail?id=13

Regards

Sean.

Hi Sean,

Thank you for your positive feedback.

Yes, the eventservice.properties of the conf directory is the current
pre-configured configuration file
and
yes, the request for the central Maven repository is planned and will
probable be started within the next days.

Best regards,

Sven S.
