Hi all,

I wanted to aware you dear gwm users that i've port the well designed
PureMVC product for GWT for my own use.
I thought to the GWT community and delivered my version to the PureMVC
company.
They are validating and packaging the code to put available an
official release.

If you are interested how integrate MVC into your GWT projects this
post could interest you.

for the product in general. It's really well documented.
http://puremvc.org/

"PureMVC is a lightweight framework for creating applications based
upon the classic Model-View-Controller design meta-pattern.
This free, open-source framework is implemented in ActionScript 2 and
3, Java, C# and a number of other popular programming languages. This
allows development on a wide variety of platforms including:

Mobile Environments: FlashLite, .NET Compact Framework, J2ME

Server Environments: ColdFusion, J2EE, PHP, Python

Browser Environments: Flash/Flex, JavaFX, Silverlight

Desktop Environments: .NET, AIR, FLASH, J2SE "

What's the status with the pureMVC port? I would be willing to help
if it needs any contributors?

Hello Charlie,

Good to hear from you
I've asked PureMVC for this same question yesterday morning;)
Indeed i've sent my version to them , and i they absolutly want included the gwt version port from the Java port.
But it seems they don't have much time to spare on it ...

I've asked the leader to give  me an entry point to their generator to do myself the integration. i'm waiting  a response.

What do you think Charlie?

Cheers.

Luciano

We are also waiting for the validation, cuz we need to finalize on the
framework for building GWT based applications and we were thinking it
would be good if we can have the same pattern for both flex
applications and gwt applications.

But i feel this is taking longer than it should be, in that case we
might have to go for another lightweight framework - maybe build on
our own from scratch.

Would it be possible for you to make the codebase available so that we
may be able build on top of your codebase?

Thanks and Regards,
Hafiz

Hi Hafiz,

Thank for your interest.
I'm also eager to see it validated even much you are ;)
But with all respect i due to you and the community you are not in
position
to judge how time it should take, you can understand is open source.
It is
done by passionated guys (geeks) who do that during their spare time
without
asking nothing in exchange ( while some are to the beach in holidays
under
the sun) ;)

Since it's something not much visual it has to be documented, tested,
well
explain and PureMVC offer this quality and this quality is time to
spend. I
propose them the GWT port but i'm sure i'm not their first priority.

So do what you have to do but respect them and do not judge please.
It's not a
commercial product so you can't judge what the deadlines should be. I
think this is the first quality of open source mind because in most of
the case people like when open source project are ready to use but
often they even don't say a simple thank you which is the best reward
that an open source guy could have. But that part of the deal i would
say ;) ;)

I agree that project need to progress so i created on my side the
http://code.google.com/p/zeumvc4gwt/ project related to my port and
early in
september i will push my source code version and you will have all the
pleasure to offer you contribution as you propose!

Best Regards

Luciano
