Some time ago I started a time recording application called "Karaka" (Maori for "clock"). Besides being useful I wanted to test GWTP in a bigger application. Karaka uses the following stack:
  • Google App Engine
  • GWT 2.5.x (Cell Widgets, Editors, UiBinder)
  • GWTP (older version - needs to be updated)
  • CDI: Weld on the server side and GIN on the client side
  • Objectify
  • JAX-RS / RESTEasy
  • Piriti / Totoe
  • GWT Highcharts
Karaka is not yet finished but the basics features like recording time, manage projects and tags are ready. What's missing is the ability to manage clients and settings. Also, reports are still missing. The most current version is deployed on GAE: http://karaka-d8.appspot.com/. The code is hosted at GitHub: https://github.com/hpehl/karaka

Unfortunatley I do not have time to continue development for Karaka. So I wonder if anyone wants to continue the work and turn this into another sample application for GWTP.

Looking forward to your feedback.

Awesome work Harald!

One quick word, since I don't think the internal pages are meant to be crawlable, you could remove the ! from all nametokens.

When can we replace freshbooks? :D

Please, change the Piriti and Totoe versions in the pom.xml file to the "stable" 0.9 and
0.5 releases, instead the (unavaliable) -SNAPSHOT versions.

Also, thanks for the contribution. I was looking for some example app which uses REST
services.

Great work Harald. I like your shoehorning of GWT Highcharts manually in since the curator has nothing but expletives for Maven.

I'll certainly use this as a reference for various issues I encounter. I hope this appears on the examples page. Thanks!

Sincerely,
Joseph
