Hi. I'm Joel Regen. I'm a software developer for a major network security company.  I have 30+ years experience starting with Intel as a test engineer designing digital electronics in 1981.  I'm a very old developer now - 56 years old.  Still working, *sigh* and trying to figure out how to build a decent GWT application using your awesome GWTP project.

alas.... I am not having a huge degree of success because I started with 0.7 and the eclipse plugin training wheels (and Dani's video) - now I find that the 1.0 version is not quite so easy to start with.  Ok... here's the problem:

Is it possible to create a project with the GWTP eclipse plugin and then modify it for 1.0 or is there a better approach using maven and archetypes?
I have installed maven (on a windows box) and am looking at your explanations of how to create a project from an archetype - somewhat confusing - no concrete examples - however, once done with that, I will have an 'X'.  Will 'X' be ready to import into eclipse as a project?  If not, how to do so?  If imported, will it run as a GWT app? Or are there additional steps?

Maybe I could help you write a new 'getting started' doc - I am a pretty decent writer.  If someone could help me get started, I would commit to doing that.

thanks,
Joel

I've since tried following all the instructions I could find pertaining to this subject at various links from the gwtp site to no avail.
I cannot run the archetype project built from maven and imported to eclipse.
still waiting for some help.
thanks

Let me know through g+ if you are still having an issue. I commented on the other posts. :) I'll look at improving the documentation. I'm also working on an Eclipse plugin and I think it will simplify it too.
