How Can I checkout the source/ Where Can I get the javadoc

in the checkout page it says:

Get a local copy of the gwt-google-maps-v3 repository with this
command:

hg clone https://code.google.com/p/gwt-google-maps-v3/

I don't know if this is a svn or git commands, I tried both, but
couldn't get the source code.
I actually need the source code to get the javadoc for this API

is there anyplace that I reach the javadoc for this api?

I find out that I should install Mercurial for getting the source!
