Hi,
I am happy to announce that GWT-Ext 2.0 has been released.

Release notes : http://www.gwt-ext.com/release_notes.html
Demo : http://www.gwt-ext.com/demo/
Project site : http://www.gwt-ext.com/
Getting Started & Wiki : http://www.gwt-ext.com/wiki

I have also setup a web based forum for those of you who prefer
message board style forums : http://www.gwt-ext/forum

This group will however continue to be active, so use the one you're
more comfortable with.

There are a lot of users that I'd like to thank
- Mathias Boggart for sponsoring the GWT-Ext 2.0 project and driving
the requirements
- Sankar Gorthi for adding the docs to the wiki. He is now part of the
GWT-Ext team
- My brother Rajiv, for setting up the gwt-ext.com site
- Several beta testers who have provided valuable feedback

I have added a lot of samples to the GWT-Ext 2.0 Showcase, along with
the source viewable by clicking the "View Source" button on each page.
The source is structured so that it is a standalone Module class
without any dependencies on helper classes like SampleData etc. So you
will be able to take the code for each sample as-is and run it
independently. This should help with the migration to GWT-Ext 2.0.

If there's enough interest, I can setup a IRC chat session for a day
over the weekend where I'll answer any questions you may have
regarding porting to GWT-Ext 2.0. I would strongly recommend that you
guys upgrade to GWT-Ext 2.0 as soon as possible. Although its the
first 2.0 release, its very stable and is already being used by a few
users in production apps.

Thanks,
Sanjiv

I don't know if it wouldn't be better to focus on only a single forum.
Otherwise, every question will be asked twice in each forum and you
will have to search in both forums. Imho, google groups is too limit,
so I'd prefer to continue with phpBB (http://www.gwt-ext/forum).

Impressive. Great job... as usual!! :o) Thank you Sanjiv!

I have to adapt a project based on the 0.9.3 version.
The main problem I meet is that some XXXXConfig classes (GridConfig,
TextFieldConfig...) disappeared in the 2.0.
Do you plan to add them in an upcoming upgrade, or should I remove
them definitely from my project?

Thanks again
Benjamin

Sanjiv,

Excellent work. After using the beta version for 2.0 for some time, now, i must say two things:
1) The work is quite stable.
2) Nothing is perfect, but your dedication and rapid resonse has helped many of us.

Thanks and get some sleep now!

Hi Sanjiv,

First of all -- Looks Great!

In the showcase I can't seem to find an example of column tree:
http://extjs.com/deploy/dev/examples/tree/column-tree.html
Is it supported?

Thanks,

Thanks everyone for the support.

Pavel, column tree not in this release but I don't expect it to be too hard to support. Look for in the next (minor) release. I'll also let you guys know when I've put it in SVN.

Gratz for this release :)

I personally prefer a lot better a mailing list like this one.
Also who prefer to use web, it's also accesible and consistent via web.

Not to mention that this ML has hundred of registered viewers, a good search system and thousand of messages. And ability to read/write both via mail or web is the best.
But if everywhere the only links avaibles are for the forum, I doubt it will survive...

New comers won't know of this mailing at googlegroups and would join only the forum. And slowly this group would loose interest and content.

Not a critic, just a comment ^_^

Anyway I prefer googlegroups

Hi Sanjiv,

first of all, thank you very much for the great job!

Then, I have an answer...
...is actually GWT-Ext 2.0 as stable (or more) as GWT-Ext 0.93?

I have a project written with GWT-Ext 0.93, it's stable. I'm wondering
if a complete refactoring of the project will give me the same
stability.

Thanks,
Simone

Did you test gwtext 2.0 in gwt 1.5 .. I found 1.5 is stable in truck.

I know that Mathias has a large project that users GWT-Ext 2.0 with GWT 1.5 and he's not had any issues.
