Is there already code that will populate the calendar from an iCal Feed?

Hi Joel,

Probably there's something in internet, but that's not a feature that should be included in gwt-cal if that's what you are asking for.

GWT-Cal is a UI component, and things like that don't belong there.

Regards,
Carlos.

I understand its a UI component, but it would be a typical operation to populate it with an iCal feed. It wouldn't be part of the component, but say a utility. Just thought someone here, may have already built that.

Hi Joel,

I agree with you. Have you tried to do a search? I did a quick one and there seems to be different projects/code snippets around internet.

It would be interesting to have something like that as a plugin/utility class.

Regards,
Carlos.

I'm guessing I'll need to use iCal4J on the server-side to fetch the stream, and turn it into JSON, then I'll need client-code to turn the JSON into GWT/Calendar populating code. Was kind of hoping for something a little more direct, but don't know what that would be.

Hi Joel,

That really depends on your needs, but maybe you can directly create Appointment objects and retrieve them from the client using GWT-RPC

My 2 cents

I had a question about the gwt-cal, I wanted to add the color white when making an appointment, how would I go about that. I didn’t see white as an option in the select. Thanks for your time.
