Cross platform Display of CheckBox

CheckBoxes display nicely in Internet Explorer: the text is lined up with the box,and there's a slight space between the box and the text.  On FireFox and Chrome, however, it look like this:

The text is above the box, and there's not even a pixel's space between the text and the box.  Is there any way to get the CheckBox and title to show up the same on all platforms?
