Hey guys,
I just wanted to see if anybody had any ideas of possible locations to
hit up this season.

I also might have access to a car throughout the year so I need to
find some places to go for a day trip or two.

Hey--

Putting my local knowledge to work here:

Whitetail, in PA. It's very close (1 1/2 hrs) and not bad when the weather is cold. They added a bunch of new snow-making machines over the summer, so there should be more trails open even when it's cold but the snow isn't falling. It's a small-ish mountain, but what can you really expect around here? I've skiied there many times (I'm from the DC area) and it's got enough to it of various levels to keep everyone busy.

WISP (MD) is bigger and better, but farther away. Definitely worth a look.

Have you been to the DC Ski Center (near American U)? I worked there last season and they are extremely knowledgeable about everything snow-sport related-- they could tell you far more than I can about ski areas around here, and they've got a first rate selection of all sorts of equipment and clothes (not cheap, though). They also have demo days and stuff during the winter, with free lift passes. Check it out.

Can't wait for skiing!

Oh, and what's the deal with the Quebec trip? I really want to go!!

Also, I can't come to your first meeting next Thursday-- is there some way I can find out what was discussed/decided at the meeting?

Madeleine

I am a west-coaster so I don't know of any here in the east but I do
know the best of the west.

I agree. Wherever we go we need powder, no ice.

Dude, blue is sick, it had pretty good terrain parks and some of their blacks are a bit icy but overall the place is chill.
