Disclosure-Bangalore main, S12 masters (haha). Typically solo queue to Diamond and call it. Console. Too tired to create a chart. Strong preference for close range weapons as my strategy is typically to smoke LOS and push aggressively. Day 1 player so the current meta makes me very happy. Opinion only.
Apex has been crying out for a good fun progression system to give players something to work towards. Like Call of Duty, you get gold camo for maxing out one weapon, diamond camo for maxing out one class and so on.
Why is there no unique skin for reaching level 100? Even using the games common stock skin for each weapon but making the material just pure gold maybe with diamond studs or something. You know something they can make for all weapons in like a day would be an improvement on this. Very disappointing. They give us an A* feature with a C- delivery.
I made a spreadsheet with some weapon stats that I thought were interesting to look at - damage, DPS, mag size, damage per mag, reload time and hipfire spread for myself just so I could compare weapons and I thought I'd share it here if anyone is interested. It's updated to this season. I started this last season if someone wants to compare the changes from S13 to S14.
Recently swapped some binds around to superglide more consistently was using Mouse 4&5 to swap weapons. I'm thinking about moving my tactical back to M5 for aiming skills like bang smoke ect was Lctrl which is now Toggle Crouch which was my tac button. I suck at using Q when going left lmao.
I have an embarrassing number of hours in this game, and I still choke and die so often because I can't swap weapons properly during a fight. I used to have standard controls, 1 and 2 for equipping, and I set LALT to switch between guns. It was pretty easy, except for the times that I would panic, and double press LALT, and it would switch back to the empty gun. Or worse, I would press 1 or 2, or LALT, but the game would simply ignore the keypress, it also happens on reloads sometimes. If I want to be more consistent, I would only use 1 and 2, but in intense fights, I forget what I have equipped, so I don't know what to press. Whan keybinds should I use, or what routines should I try in the firing range? Thank you
Devotion: A energy weapon, the Devotion has a large wind up time before the gun reaches its full rate of fire. The turbocharger alleviates this a bit, but the Devotions high recoil limits the weapons usability at medium range. The devotion when fully charged up has the highest DPS in Apex Legends, so the turbocharger is a desirable attachment when using this weapon.
RE-45: Full auto pistol. Low damage and poor ballistics make this weapon useless at long range. However, the highest magazine size out of all the pistols, as well as the highest rate of fire makes this pistol good at getting in damage at close quarters.
I love the Triple Take for one reason: bullet speed. Out of every marksman/sniper weapon in apex, the Triple-Take has the quickest bullets. (Excluding the charge rifle. Not today Satan!) They travel 25m/sec faster than the sentinel's bullets. It sounds like a small number, but it's really noticeable when you shoot it.
I won't claim it's a direct upgrade to any other gun. It isn't. It's a whole suite of trade-offs. But it seems like some of those trade-offs might be worthwhile. Spammable, fast bullets at a long range makes it one MEAN poke weapon. Do with this information what you will :3
Like seriously, the R9 has to be in conversation for the best gun in the game. I have never one clipped so many enemies before. It easily beats out sg in close range. Decent recoil control in mid range to deal good damage. The only guns that rival the R9 is the nemesis or flat (besides red weapons)
I mean, if care package weapons are an option and they keep their "attachments", that seems the obvious answer. But what gun do you think you will prefer to lug around and give the most benefit for his ult?
Loaded with hammers I have quickly built many weapons only to obtains commons each time. I slowed the build process to hitting build just before the weapon rotates to the next and within 2 days I obtained my apex radar, 2 epic, and many rare builds. Now however no matter what I do I obtain common builds.
Overall I really like the design of the game but there's one thing that has always bothered me since it was introduced and never properly updated since then: The crafting and drop system of weapons, but actually it's more about the underlying rotation system of the weapons, which is really bothering me especially this season since I basically can't use/farm my favourite Loadout.
The design of crafting stations are just too rigid, unreliable or rare to actually build a visit to one into your run if this game is heavily dependent on your teammates and being on your feet almost 24/7. You either actively drop on a crafting zone while hoping that you won't get chased away by enemy squads or you skip the 2 weapons in the crafting station altogether. My ideas: Crafting should be reworked to be more accessible casually, at least for weapons. Alternatively, weapons and maybe also attachments should be in the normal drop too, either while keeping those weapons in the crafting station additionally or removing them completely.
Red drops are even worse because they're even more random and rare and will only come later in a match. Though this could also be easily fixed by adding those weapons into the normal drop. I understand that they buff those specific weapons for the drops each season but how about making the red drop a special version of it? For example having the Re-45 drop as normal loot and a RE-45 EVO be available as a red drop.
A maxed out class of weapons (340-425h) (all pistols, all snipers etc) should offer some kind of legendary banner, tracker, badge and an epic skin for each (basic weapon model but something very unique, to the likes of CoD dark matter)
R-99 and Nemesis are still overpreforming and are by far the most common loadout. Not nerfing the Nemesis which is blatantly better then care package weapon because of a desire to shake up the meta is ridiculous IMO along with the R-99 getting the equivalent to a slap in the wrist which is pretty lame since it still dominates close quarters meta.
I just switched back to the default of having 1 and 2 be my weapon keybinds instead of using just a swap weapon keybind. I'm finding that sometimes I'm still struggling to switch super fast in combat, but it definitely helps to be able to pull out either weapon with 1 and 2 at any notice.
However I would say that in most matches, this weapon will never be bad to take. Especially in ranked. I know that the triple take is probably the better sniper rifle, and the longbow is just insane, but with the longbow in the crafter and the triple take using energy ammo which is VERY limited right now, I think it is the sentinels time to shine.
In the end, if none of this convinces you, the sentinel is just insanely fun. One of the most satisfying weapons to use in apex. It really fills the sniper roll, and while it could use a bit of a buff, I think the sentinel is in a pretty good state as is.
R-99 and Nemesis as far as the eye can see along with your charge rifle rats, probably one of the most boring weapon meta we've had in a bit because everyone just dies so quick. Don't know who the genius that thought we needed an R-99 buff of all SMGs when it was fine and along with it we needed a burst energy AR that rewards bad aim by firing faster regardless if you missed your shot or not.
Discuss what you like or dislike about this weapon; how it compares to other weapons; your favorite skins; changes that you think would be beneficial; or anything else that you think would be of value to discuss regarding the C.A.R. SMG.
I'm a big fan of the bow, and for the last 2 seasons, as well as the incoming season 16, I've had very few opportunities to use it since it's a supply drop weapon. I'm wondering if the bow will always stay like that, just like the Kraber, or if it will eventually be back as a normal weapon?
Title. I'm trying to farm out xp for my prowler and am running mixtape at the moment where I'm getting around 400-500 xp per tdm or control game only using my prowler (yes I have it out at all times). I want to know if people seem to be getting more xp in battle royale because it's down to chance of getting the weapon you would like rather than having a choice in a mode like tdm or control.
TLDR EDIT: For the moment I still believe mixtape is most efficient since you can pick weapons as well as consistent games but I do believe you get more xp in battle royale over time and per kills etc.
Like in the title. I was always using flatline but I recently started appreciating R301 for its better control. I am not sure which second weapon would be the best? R99 or PK? Maybe something else for short distance? Thanks in advance.
In my opinion the weapon balance state of the game is the healthiest it has ever been. There will always be meta weapons and without constant change in the meta the game would start feeling stale and boring.
As stale as the context in this subreddit gets we cannot talk about this season without addressing the broken and bad matchmaking there is. Just objectively speaking are the ranked changes a right direction for a battle royal mode, yes I mean placement should always be higher rated than kills in a br. If you're placed first in a br game, you should always get the most progress out of the lobby. Ratting is a problem caused by the nature of the game, fighting 1v3 is super hard, there was another post dealing with respawn items and this would help reduce the amount of people ratting because it's more valuable to res a teammate who can actually fight back on drop. But man does the MMR matchmaking suck. I purely play ranked because I'm a competitive person and like to compete with others. And I like how the lobbies play in season 18 if they weren't my rookie lobbies, why do I have to grind till masters in masters lobbies? The whole journey of climbing the ranks and getting more and more intense games was a very fun part of the ranked experience. I know they want to address smurfing and high tiers running through low tier lobbies but they at least could do it like other games and just put you straight away 4-5 games from your MMR rank.
